Default Walking my pup

My puppy is 10 weeks old received second lot of injections today. But Vet told me two weeks till I can walk him.

I plan to walk him on the local beach as its a pretty clean environment due to tides and two weeks seems excessivly long to wait. AM keen to get on with his socialisation.

Any thoughts?

Hello and welcome to the forum. Great to have you with us. I hope you'll post pics of your new pup. We'd love to see him.

I've always considered the "standard advice" to be at least a week after the 2nd shot but I wouldn't advise against your vet. Will be interesting to hear what others think on this subject. No doubt 2 weeks is safer than 1 though.

Cant wait for pics.......I woulf suggest letting your dog get use to a leah in your yard by putting it on him so he can just wander about with it on until you start walking

I think the vet is worried about Parvovirus and that is why he is suggesting not to walk your pup.

I never worried too much about it. My dog was out as a pup and did fine. But Parvo is always a concern, just keep it in mind.
