Question A lot of Puppy Questions

ello, iv never had a dog of my own before this one, i did look after my uncles dog basically all of the time, but he was blacklab/collie not pekapom and i dont remember his puppy hood cause i myself was also small, so im sorry if these questions are just common sence ones and pretty simple & dumb, but even if i think i know the right answer lol im gunna ask anyways just to re-asure myself... no confidence in what your doing gets to you in these situations lol, anyways: She is a 11 week old pekapom and weighs 1 and a half pounds.

-How often should she be sleeping and for how long? Does this depend on how much you do with the dog(playing with, walking)

-How often should i walk her? I as of now take her for a walk around 7-8 a.m cause that is her first bathroom break, then i walk her again around 9-9:30 p.m when i go for my walk. She dosnt usually do even half the block.

-Swimming, iv heard some just simply can't cause of there size? is any of this true? I have already introduced her to water, since we live on the water but have not made her swim in it, she seemed okay was just confused that she couldnt walk on it and it would randomly drop and become deeper. She did shake afterwards and i dont know if it was because she was cold or just scared cuz of the experience, she didnt wine and want picked up she simply just went on chaseing my boyfriend around.

-What can she stand for tempature wise both in summer (her hair is like a inch long and she is black) and in winter?

-Since her hair is long how prone will she be to flee's? How soon can you put a flee colar on her?

-What are the best signs of her getting a cold? right now she is sneezing, but she has been since we got her (on friday) and she still seems to be okay and eating... when she is awake.

-We were never told the parents size, so if a puppy is 3 months old and only weights in at 1 1/2 pounds how big will she be when full grown?

-In a week i will be back at school so nobody will be here from about 7 a.m till 3 p.m, we are planning on keeping her in the kitchen with her toys and blankets with the tv and radio both on to help her, is this good? I tried this today for only a hour and she went crazy and wined and barked a lot should i just continue trying this for a hour a day to try and get her used to it? All suggestions on this Q would be hugely helpful! im most worried about this.

-How often should she be eating? Yesterday she ate a lot, but today has not yet ate anything and has been sleeping.

-How do you tell if her digestive track is off and messed up cause of something she is eating?

I think that is all lol, im sorry for the length and mantality of the Q's! but all is greatly apprechiated! Thank you in advance.

Let me just step in REAL quick and say, dont put your pup on sched. right now. she is MUCH too little to even come close to keeping it.
Puppies are very small and need LOTS of sleep and LOTS of potty breaks!
walks are good, BUT make sure she has ALL and i do mean ALL of her shots otherwise she has a better chance of catching something and it could be deadly to such a small pup!
please dont expect your pup to stay up for hours on end or even a few hours, puppies...eat, sleepy, potty and play for about 20 minutes! playing takes alot out of such a small body!
as she gets a little older she's slowly stay up longer but that will come with time.
umm ill leave the other questions to someone else...
glad to have you here though, cant wait to see some more pictures

oh and for the food question, basically anything and everything could make a dog have loose stools, change of food, new environment, strees, playing more the usual, just a tummy ache...the list goes on and on.
if you are feeding something other then what the breeder was, she'll prolly have loose stools for a couple days...
puppies should be eating 3-4 times a day, if you need to...wake her up to eat and YES food can be on a sched.
after she is maybe 3-4 months old, cut back to 3 meals, then 5 months or so, cut back to 2!
I DONT recommend any less meals the 2!!!
umm, i think thats it

... i was just told on another forum that my puppy shouldnt be left for more then 1-2 hrs cause of her age? we rnt going to get anyone to look after her cause we cant nor do we have any time to send her to a place to be looked after everyday. Wont she get used to being alone for the 6 hrz a day and be okay? not like it will b silent inside the house without toys.

At that age I wouldn't leave her home along for 6 hours straight. Is there anyone that could come to your house and check on your pup and let her use the restroom?

honestly you pup will be FINE! just make sure all cleaners and poisonous materials are put away, up on counters etc. so she cant get to them.
whoever told you that i think is full of bologna, as long as theirs enough toys, fresh water, a clean place to sleep and all hazardous materials(including garbage can) set aside and out of the place where the pup is going to be, everything will be just fine. i promise!
you could even leave a radio on and leave it on the counter or something(make sure cords are hagingin down) just so she doesnt feel so...alone you know.

darn, i typed my response and my computer got all messy
well to make it short and sweet i guess...
they are not wrong at all, classes are not only fun, but your dog can socialize with others as well as learn a thing or two.
not every dog needs them by any means but they do help!
we dont mind alot of questions at all, i do think though that you could have done more research on dogs before you actually got one, which would have answered alot of your questions, but like i said...we dont mind
