Smile Is anybody here a saluki breeder?

on another forum i asked for a saluki and i said i was 14 and everybody got mad at me and have no idea why! so all i want now is to talk to an actual breeder of the breed and see what standards a person would have to have to accuire a saluki.
the people at dog.com forum were a pit of wolves! and i don't want anyone to not take me seriously because i'm 14. they found that out and started yelling at me more!
i really want to own a saluki someday (when i have enough money!) and i want to be on a high education level when i get one.
i think i know pretty much about them already (i leved on the saluki tree of life and saluki club of america websites for years!) but if ther is more to learn i want to learn.
i think thats what the people @ dog.com forum didn't understand, i just want to learn!

I used to work with a lady who was a Saluki breeder/shower. If I ever come across her, I'll definitely point her your way.

I don't know how the mods here feel about dragging business around from forum to forum, but, since you started this, I think it's fair for them to know that you asked for a free saluki, which threw up some huge red flags, then you got mad and threatened to kill a dog if you didn't get what you wanted and run over the other posters with a dump truck. Then you come here and tell lies.

I don't think you are banned for good over there, if you want to learn come back and ask your question in a sane manner like you did here.

Anyway, good for you for wanting to learn. You really did get some excellent information over there.

"This is a very expensive breed to maintain - they do not do well on store bought food - the genetic illnesses that they are prone to are bizarre at least and very EXPENSIVE to treat - they can not be vaccinated the way other dogs are - all shots must be one at a time, not combo vaccines, due to the high risk of autoimmune reaction, so there is a vet bill with EVERY shot, not one bill for a combo shot - they cannot be given regular general anesthetic if they require any type of surgery because it will kill them, they require special anesthetics which most vets have to order in - and a Saluki is not the breed for just anyone. They require an experienced, patient, and VERY focused owner. They are killers of small animals, including cats and other small pets, due to their high prey drive, they are not easily trained, and can NEVER be trusted off a leash. If they get loose, chances are you will never catch them. They are very close to feral, and it doesn't take long for them to "go wild". They are not a very social creature and may only attach to one person. Often, it is not the person that the dog was intended for."

Listen to her, she's in the breed.

If you honestly want to learn, go to shows, approach the people respectfully (after they have shown their dogs, not before) and soak up any knowledge they are willing to give.

It was the same account name. The threads where she threatened to kill a dog and run anyone over with a dump truck if they disagreed with her can be found here: http://forum.dog.com/asp/tm.asp?m=75624
