Hello,

I'm a new member and thought I should introduce myself.

I own three dogs: Aslan, a five year old sheltie; Jericho, a four year old sheltie; and Laika, a 10 year old American Eskimo. All of my dogs are or have competed in agility, and I'm a professional agility trainer. My biggest boast to date with my dogs is that my sheltie Aslan earned his MACH (Master Agility Champion) title last October and attended the 2007 AKC Agility National Championships in Ohio this year. He just qualified for the 2008 Nationals, so I hope to go next year as well.

I "know" a few of the folks here from other forums. I look forward to getting to know this on-line community.

Welcome! Whoa, I bet you have a LOAD of great advice to give our users (and myself!!) here at dogforum.org! I have never spoken to a profess. trainer before *blushes* lol, and I am sure I will be in need of your opinion quite a few times. Anything you have questions or concerns with, I know you will find the answer that best suits you and your fur-family, as everyone here is great! Friendly, and cooperative, there is no bashing or anything of that sort here! I cant wait to get to know you better!

Jess

Sure. Jericho is my color headed white sheltie who is hard of hearing. I've trained him using hand signals, and he's doing very well. He competes in agility and Rally Obedience. This summer, I'm hoping to retrain his contacts using a newer method currently in vogue with some of the USA Agility World Team members (ORTO for those of you who know the lingo). I haven't trained this method, so I'm looking forward to seeing how it works with him. His old 2o/2o method wasn't holding up in trial situations.

He's a very sweet boy and is very tactile. He's usually in my lap when I'm on the computer.
