So sorry hear of Chessie. But I'm sure Chessie is overjoyed, in heaven, to see you are now being taken care of by Cheynie. That's so awesome that you are working with TCSPCA! SPCAs are the best groups around, by far.

Thanks for the welcome, techie and bigboy ... did you call yourself that because of your dog or because you like girls calling "bigboy"? ;-)

You and I think alike. I always choose the runt of the litter too. Don't worry about your weight too much. As long as you are healthy and happy. That's what matters in life!

Hello and welcome from another Sandra! We live on the Texas coast just out of Corpus Christi. I am "mom" to golden retriever, 12 year old Sophie, and Great Pyrenees, Moose, 8 years old, both adopted. We got Moose in Sept. 2014 and Sophie in Feb. 2015 5 weeks after she turned 11. She had been in the same home since she was 5 weeks old and it was a dramatic change for her. It took a while, but she is so well adjusted now that you think she had always been with us. She loves to play with erh teddy bear and sticks and even retriever tennis balls.

She came to us with very bad hips and knees (arthritis) and I got her on grain free food, Cosequin, and fish oil and it has made such a difference. As much as loves to retrieve her tennis balls, we try to avoid stress on her legs, so only toss it a few feet and onhly a few times. She is a red golden, or field golden and I am totally jealous of her curly fur. She is our 6th golden and hubby and I were saying we have had 3 males and 3 females, 3 light goldens and 3 red goldens.
