Default Newbie Hello :)

Hi all, I'm Jules and my puppy is called Ralph. I grew up with dogs, my dad was always bringing home strays and my poor mum often found them new homes as she couldn't cope with 3 kids and a strange dog. When I married and had my daughter we had our own dogs, 2 Old English Sheepdogs......we are allergic to most dogs but can cope with a wool coat After not having a dog for a few years we've just got our puppy Ralph, he's a mini sheepadoodle - mums an Old English and dad is a miniature poodle......so we're playing it by ear, have no idea what size Ralph will get to but he's adorable. He has a great character, is very clever and we love him to bits, we've only had him 2 weeks but he's already grown, has learned to sit, stay, toilet on command, is very polite when having/taking food from you, great passenger in the car, is very good at alerting us to strangers approaching the house.....oh I could go on and on, but I won't bore you all too early on LOL

Hello Jules and Ralph from the coast of Texas. I am Sandra and the proud mom of 2 dogs. We adopted Moose, a badger Great Pyrenees last Sept. He is now 8 years old. Then in Feb. we adopted his "sister", an11 year old golden Retriever named Sophie. Her owners, who we had gotten Moose from, contacted us about adopting her as well and we said yes. We had had gioldens the previous 25 years. Three were blond, two re red. and Sophie males our 3rd red.

I grew up with English Setters which we used for hunting quail. Also my dad had pointers, but I only had setters. Later on I had 2 Irish Setters, and then the goldens. Actually, with the exception of just a few years when we lived out of state, I have owned my own dogs for 59 years.

I forgot to add that my grandma was from Blackpool. Her mother was from Maltaand she married my great grandpa and he took her to England. Then my Aussie grandpa was stationed in England during WWI, met and married my grandma and took her to Perth, Western Australia where my Mom was born. My American dad was stationed there furing WWII, met and marred my mom and I was born there. Mom and I came to America to join Daddy on his Texas farm in 1946. For awhile the women inly family seeme to marry and move to a new country. I went to another state for 7 years and could hardly wit to get backhere to Texas.
