Default Need some help and advice

My name is Lorraine. I have an 11 yr. old Doberman, born in my hands, my heart and soul. 3 weeks ago he started contesting, My Dr. Put him on enalapril, 20 mg, vetmean, 5 mg. and lasix,50 mg. I can't leave him for he urinates about once per hr, and the meds are very expensive. Does anyone know of a site that donates meds? He is doing very well on them, the vetmean is extremely expensive. Thanks for your help

Welcome Lorraine, I'm sorry to hear your dog was not feeling well. I certainly understand that pet medications can be very expensive. Do you have health insurance for your dog? the plan I have for my dog includes prescription medication costs. As well, stores such as Walmart and Costco that have pharmacies are often able to fill veterinary prescriptions at a much lower price. Below is a list of organizations and agencies that help with the costs of veterinary care; I don't know if the can assist with the cost of medications but it certainly can't hurt to contact them to ask. I hope your dog continues to do well.

My first dog, when I was growing up, was a doberman. My best friend at the time. Beautiful dogs. Yours sounds very special. I wish I could have seem mine to the age of 11.
JGLI is right, pet insurance is probably the way to go.
I hope you find a way to keep him healthy.
Cheers from Chile.

Lorraine, welcome to the forum. JGLI gave you some good leads to follow. In the past I had a dog whose meds were quite expensive and the vet wrote me a prescription for the pharmacy. This was before the days of Walmart (I'm showing my age), and even at the regular drugstore the medicine was much less expensive than buying them from the vet. Good luck. Keep us posted.
