Default New to the forum!

Hello everyone! This is going to be a bit of a long rant...I apologize in advance
I’m Vilja, I’m a 27 year old nurse, but I also train therapy dogs to work with us in the field of health care. Both dogs who are trained to simply hang out and spread love and comfort, and specially trained dogs who rehabilitate people who suffered strokes or other brain trauma. Dogs to help children learn to read, or autistic kids to interact. Some of them you must be in health care yourself to work with, and their work is additional to or instead of medicines, and prescribed by a doctor, followed up on, and documented.
My dog at the moment (who I will keep myself and bring to work as my new college) is Julius, the 18 months old Goldendoodle. He comes from a wonderful, wonderful breeder’s first litter, and is the 3rd generation of Goldendoodle. The breeder trained and socialized the pups really well, and all generations are tested for hips and eye problems, as well as temperament. All sibling (seven of them) are aiming to be working dogs, his sister is almost done with her avalanche search and rescue training, and my boy is about to start his field training in two weeks.
I know a lot of people are against the mixed “hybrids” and I understand and respect the worries and concerns, I had them myself. I think a lot of it is true, sadly. I think you must be lucky like I was, to find a breeder that is truly committed and willing to put a lot of work and heart into it. She also did not over charge as some do, fully aware that it is indeed a mix.
When the pups were tiny she played a cd with “scary sounds” while they nursed, and not one of the pups are afraid of loud, strange or sudden noises today. She (the breeder, also a dog instructor by profession) also offer help to any puppy buyer who have a problem, and a few times a year try and meet up and talk and have fun with all the dogs. In the buyer contract there’s a promise form her to buy back any pup that for any reason becomes unwanted. How many breeders do that?
I have owned and trained pure breeds before, rotties (god I love them!) and Rhodesian ridgebacks (so beautiful !)mostly, but also a few shelter mixes. Julius is by far the most easy to train dog I’ve ever had, a bit high energy, but given my lifestyle, that’s not a bad thing 
So, that’s us. Looking forward to getting to know you guys!
/Vilja from Sweden (pardon my spelling)
ps. If you'd like to see Julius, there's a ton of photos on my flickr, check profile for url

Welcome Vilja, great to have you join us and kudos to you for the work that you do. One of my dog's best doggy friends is Bella, a delightful goldendoodle who lives a few houses down from us. She looks so much like Julius.. who is just adorable.
