Default Hello from Australia!

Hello everyone

My name is Sarah, I live in Western Australia, and I was told about your site through a fellow member of a great cat site that I am on. I’ve been a long-term member of another dog site, but I find that it can be a little, er, intense, and heard this one was very nice, so thought I’d come and join up!

I am studying to be a behaviourist, and have quite a few years experience just owning and loving dogs. My first baby was Duffy, a kelpie/Labrador cross that we got when I was little. When I was married I had two GSDs called Jerry and Virgil, but unfortunately I lost custody of them when I got divorced

Currently my fiancé Max and I have two Labradoodles, a gold female named Ruby, who is 20 months old, and a black male called Chester who is 17 months old. I understand that I won’t get crucified for having a `doodle’ on this site, which I hope is the case because we did all the wrong things. We got them from a pet store, they’re doodles…I have learned so much since then about the dog world and the dogs of the world, and we have vowed in our future to only ever rescue dogs from shelters.

Regardless, they are the loves of our lives, we adore them, and it was Ruby who was the first dog I’ve ever had to completely steal my heart, and make me understand why there are so many canine fanatics out there!

I hope to spend a fair bit of time here and make even more friends in the dog world.

(Oh, and we have three cats, too!)

Here is Miss Ruby girl.

Here is little Chester man.

As long as you don't try to breed them everyone will stay friendly

Sorry, that just seems to be a touchy subject everywhere !

Welcome !

Why not? I was planning to - only once, because they're so cute and they'd have gorgeous puppies. I have lots of friends who've said they'll take one when they're born. Plus, it would be a good way to make some money - they cost us a lot! Don't worry about health checks - I had our vet look them over and he said they look fine. Plus, I'd really like Ruby to have the chance to know what it's like to be a mother. I think all animals have yearnings to reproduce.

NOT

I've had a few people ask me if I'm going to when they see us out, and then I think they walk away wishing they had never opened their mouths! I tend to get a bit irritable about that subject and don't always manage to just keep my answer to `No we do not plan to `breed' them'.
