Love his expression in the first picture. With that face I'm surprised he was in the shelter more than five minutes :-)

It was sad that he stayed in the shelter so long, but thank goodness he did or we would have never found him. He's is the center of our lives.

I found that with hound puppies they are usually in rescues/shelters longer then other types of dogs.

With the rescue I worked with we had hound puppies and they were with the rescue for about two months. Usually most puppies get adopted between two-four weeks(sometimes less then that).

Anyway...He is a good looking dog

Dunbar is a cute dog and I really love his name, that's one I haven't heard used much at all. It looks like Dunbar has a wonderful life with you, now that he's not in the shelter any more.

The shelter named him, but when we asked where they got the name no one knew. The strange thing is that his name was what made us drive two hours to see him. We were originally looking for a shepherd mix female puppy, but when I talked to the head of the shelter, she mentioned Dunbar. He was a shelter favorite and they were desperately looking for someone to give him a forever home. "Dunbar" is a Scottish family name from my daughter's husband's family. All of the males in his family have it as their middle name, including our grandson. When hearing the name, my husband said we had to drive up to see Dunbar. It was love at first sight.

What a great story! It sounds like he was meant to be yours :-)
