Default Crying dog

I have a beagle who will be five years old in January. He seems to cry a lot. Sometimes he will walk around and cry. He seems fine physically with no pain anywhere. He cries when he hears something or someone outside. Is this unusual behavior in a dog. I don't think it is but someone told me I should ask someone if this dog crying is normal and so I am asking. Any help would be very appreciated. Thanks.

Hi kvtaylor and welcome to the forum Is it a wimper or definatley crying? I would say he feels a little uneasy about something? If it's happening a lot I would mention this to your vet to see what they say. How long has it been going on for? I do hope you will get to the bottom of this problem soon. Good luck. Let us know how you get on please

kvtaylor, welcome to the forum! My one Collie, Harley, is very vocal. He will cry when my Husband goes outside without him. He will keep crying and runnung to the window and back door. I usually have to call him and play a little tug of war with a toy, to take his mind off of the fact that his Dad did not take him outside with him. Harley cries when he is anxious about something. It sounds like your pup is the same way. Maybe one of the professional trainers on this forum will have a much better reply. For me, I just redirect Harley to something else, usually a toy.
