Default New dog - can you offer your experience?

Hey guys

New to this forum.....and i've been looking at lots of cool dogs for the last hour or two. My dog is about 4 years old, and I always thought the dominant breeds would become obvious later is his life. He can be hyper, but is very loving, and treats all house guests as new friends. One seems very obvious, but I just can't figure out the rest.

Any thoughts on the mix??? Thanks a lot!

I love him the same either way, but I guess its like wanting to know about your adoptive son's biological parents. Please check out the site below, that has the pictures on it. I'm not computer literate, so i couldnt' paste them.

Hi Jpaul, and welcome

Looks to me like black lab and .....?

Can you tell us age and weight? Also can you possibly post a pic of your dog standing from the side and a side view of the head?

Thanks for your response. He's about 4 years old and about 60 pounds. I added the best picture I had with he sort of standing to the side, and sort of showing the side of his face.

Thanks!

I resized your pictures so I could upload them. BTW you can do it online if you do not want to dowload a resizing program

Anyway, your dog looks like the black version of Zircon except for the paws. Zircie is always on tiptoe (kind of like a Greyhound) whereas your dog is flatfooted. The only flatfooted dogs I can think of are Basset Hounds and Dachshunds but I doubt there is any of those breeds in there...

Two of the pictures look like he has a bit of a stripe or something on his back, below his shoulders. Does he have smooth fur in that area?

He has white under his shoulders, on his chest, and on his chin/paws. Those areas are very soft/smooth. No white on his actual back though, that I have noticed.

Hi,

I am hoping someone can help - we have a 4 month old German Shepherd. We have had him nearly 2 momnths and after some initial problems with eating he has settled in well with us. He has just began loosing his teeth and this hasn't affected him at all, up untill last night when he lost his first "fang", he now won't eat again - is this normal as we have never had a puppy before?

Thank you
