Default New!

Hello dogforum world! My name is Tyler (middle name is what I go by) and I am on summer break from college (finished up my first year now 7 more to go!) and have a little down time so thought I'd check out a dog forum. I am very passionate about dogs. They bring such love and care/understanding to humans. I see my uncle who is 92 struggling in the "elderly home" and the one thing he looks forward to is the therapy dog that comes every week. I had a lab mix up until last year when she died. I took it pretty hard because I had her for 10 years and I hoped she had a few more years in her but mainly I am glad she didn't end up suffering. I live in Pittsburgh and I will help out on weekends at local shelters by bringing them food or treats. I would LOVE to get another dog but at this time I cannot because they don't allow pets where I live. I am living back home for the summer, and my sister owns a little schnauzer mix, she is cute. I will have to try and get a photo for you guys. I hope I can bring some sort of asset to the forums, anyway this is my welcome post and if you have any questions feel free to ask.

to the forum Tyler. It's so nice to hear you are passionate about dogs, you sound like a very nice young man. I'm sorry you lost your dog last year. I can't wait to see pics of your sisters dog. My parents own a schnauzer mix. Hope you enjoy it here.

Hello Tyler, welcome! We're glad you joined us and how wonderful of you to plan to help out at your local shelter! I'm looking forward to seeing pictures of your sister's dog and hearing about your experiences at the shelter :-)

I think I have the understanding towards dogs because I have seen a lot of people let down, including myself. I've been betrayed, hurt and emotionally torn down by people and nothing I did seemed to work or be forgiven. So I turned to the dog I had and she showed me true love and being loyal. Sometimes it is better if you say nothing at all, which is what a dog does. They can't talk but they can do so much more and give so much more. Dogs never ask for much but love and care back. They help the elderly, they help the disabled. You take in a dog, and they end up taking you in.

Anyway, thank you for the warm welcome! Her dog is a cross between a poodle and a schnauzer. She is 3 years old, tiny little thing! I hope to enjoy it too!
