Default Newbie from England

Hi All,

thought id introduce myself, Live in the midlands in the UK, I bought my Siberian Husky 2 days ago and he is settling in nicely. I have named him Skyler.

Researched into huskies for a good few months before i purchased him- so im readily prepared for months of chewed up sofas etc

heres a picture, its not great but its hard to capture a good one any help/advice on huskies is always appreciated!

thanks guys!

hes crashed out at my feet as we speak. Hes only 6 weeks old-i wasnt keen on taking him away from mum untill he was 8 weeks, however the litter owner explained they had been off mums food for 4 days and 3 of the litter had already gone a few days ago. So i made the difficult decision of taking him, rather than doing the 320 mile round trip 2 weeks down the line

hes been really good actually- so advanced for his age! he already wee'son wee matts, sort of understands his name. Hes eating well, and hasnt cried at night for his mum yet- he crys if i leave him in a room alone but thats expected!

Hi Bexy.....lovely pup! I too was convinced by Nellie's breeder that it was okay to take her at 6 weeks, unfortunately that is NOT the case. Don't panic though, it simply means you need to put extra work into socialising him, teaching him bite inhibition etc.

Skyler will be fine (is that loosely based on Syler from Heroes, haha!), you've already done loads of homework!

S x

Hi there hes lovely 6 weeks is still very early for him to be away from mum but as said good socialisation should conteract this

Our Molly was still giving her litter of pups drinks up to the day they went to thier new homes at 8 weeks it was only drinks though and more habbit for the pups and when all but the pup we were keeping went Molly refused to allow puppy mabel to suckle would really tell her off

Hey Good luck with this lovely chap and keep us fully updated we have 4 standard schnauzers and tomorrow pick up a miniture schnauzer girly to join the pack. Huskies are beautiful dogs there is a great thread on here about wolf dogs Im sure you would be interested written by Fede, she has the most adoreable puppy wolf dog
