Default Hey all, newbie here

Thinking of getting a dog so I hope I can lurk around and read all the threads. Reading your views etc, will influence my decision on what breed to get and how to go about it.

Hi Maria I applaude you for this But you have to take loads of things in to consideration. Like size of the breed Is your house big enough etc, also do you have babies or small children ? A garden, what hrs do you work if it's a full 8 hrs or more is it fair to get a dog in the first place? All sorts of questions you need to ask your self before you get a dog. Once you have answered these questions then you can decide what breed suits your life style HTH And good
luck!

Hi, I have a really big back yard which is fenced off on all sides it is 6ft tall. It has a small grassy area in the middle and the rest has flag stone surface to the ground.I have 3 children the youngest is 6yrs old. I don't work, my husband works full time so the most I go out for is shopping 3-4 times a week or gym 3 times a week. I have a great deal of time to spend at home. I love the look of Akita's but not sure what kind of dog it is and anything I should be aware of. I also like German Shephard. I already have a pet rabbit and he is still a baby (4-5months) old but during summer i intend to get him neutured, get him a wifey and put him in the yard in a larger wooden hutch and a run so i have to think about all this if I get a dog.

Please give me advice, shall i forget about dogs?
