Default Hi!

Hi to all and Melamaphine,

Well, I'm returning to the UK in the New Year, and I'm from the Nottinghamshire area. I've been in France for the last three years, training and working with rescue dogs and 'problem' dogs.

I moved here in 2006 when new laws on dog ownership in France meant that owners of certain breeds would have to undergo obligatory owner training by law. I'm very much in favour of this and moved here to become one of the first to qualify to provide this training. I think in that respect, France is leading the way, although I am dead against breed specific legislation. The shelters are now filling up with Rottweilers for example.

I could list my qualifications and the organisations that provide the training etc, but it's all relating to France and European governing bodies.

In addition to owner training, my passion is for helping rescue dogs, of which I have four (I can't go there without coming home with another!) I have a boxer with a heat condition (very common for white ones), a lurcher, a German Shepherd/Rottweiler mix, and a Rottweiler. I had a white German Shepherd (Swiss) but he died earlier this year after 11 brilliant years.

I look forward to hearing from you all. I'll answer as many questions as I can.

Hi its so nice that you have rescues, I have Lurchers to, well one of them is a longdog, but they are not rescues I have had them since they were puppies, but I wouldn't be allowed to go to a rescue centre for the reason that I to would come home with one every time lol.

Default correction!

The white boxer doesn't have a heat condition! She has a heart condition. Don't worry she's not too hot!

Yes, for us dog lovers, rescue homes are dangerous places indeed Chaz!

lol, I never even noticed the mistake I just read it as heart condition, but you can edit your post aswell if you make a mistake, and yes rescues are the most dangerous place for anyone, as it would be so hard to say no .

Honestly, I was wondering about that "heat" condition too. Anyway, hope you enjoy the forum.
