I had never heard the term "longdog" before your post but I looked it up. According to this,
Quote:
A longdog is a type of lurcher, a crossbreed between two sighthounds. "A longdog is a dog or a crossbreed arrived at by blending two different breeds of sight hound.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Longdog

I always thought lurchers were crosses between a sighthound and a scent hound but according to this wikipedia site that is not correct. Since Salukis and Greyhounds are both sighthounds I guess that makes your dog a "Longdog."

I beleave lurchers are, any hound crossed with another different hound breed, a terrier or working breed.

so a

Greyhound x Whippet
Greyhound x Saluki
Whippet x Bedlinton Terrier
Whippet x Bearded Collie

are all lurchers.

I also though lirchers and longdogs where the same thing.

Thanks, I didn't know of it was true so I thought I would ask because I've never seen longdogs advertised just Lurchers.
