Default Aussie with other dogs ?

Sadie doesn't live on a farm with other animals to herd though I've thought of getting a couple of ducks or geese. I dissuade her from herding the UPS truck.
Due to my own physical limitations, I can't run her enough though I do take her on long leashless walks where she can run ahead and sniff to her hearts delight.

We finally got a decent dog park withing a 20 minute drive and I've been taking her there 2 or three times a week and she exhausts herself chasing any dog that is running.
People throw tennis balls for their dogs, the dog runs after it and Sadie is righ there on that dogs hip. She could care less about the tennis ball. Other dogs will get into being chased and play tag, others don't like it so much.
I just wonder if there are othe Aussie owners or other herding dog owners that see the same kind of behavior at dog parks or wherever their dog is playing with others?
She is trying to herd the dogs but dogs don't herd well...lol.

Both of my Collies like to herd. They will try to herd the cat, birds, rabbits, anything in the back yard. The younger collie will herd a critter into the corner of the fence. Problem is, once he does that, he has no clue what to do next. He just stands there staring at it.

Frodo hasn't tried to herd dogs. He gets along really well with most dogs. My cats, that's another story. "Leave it" only works when I'm around to enforce it, so I had to put up a baby gate to the basement stairs so the cats would have some peace and quiet. I keep telling them if they don't run he won't chase, but those cats just don't listen.

Herding??? Oh my goodness yes, not other dogs but cats and children. We had a border collie who would do the stare and chase the kids nipping at their heels. the cats not so much...they would fluff like Halloween kitties and smack her in the nose.

It sounds like you're giving her plenty of exercise though and that's the important thing. A small flock of ducks might be a nice diversion for her.

Sadie would chase cats but fortunately she is on leash when she sees them around town. We had one when we first got her and I was never successful in stopping her so had to create safe places for the cat.
There is one cat in town that she doesn't mess with. Was in a little shop one day with Sadie on the leash outside the door when I suddenly herd her yelping. Turned around to see a calico cat glued to her face. She walks a wide berth around that cat every time we see it now.
I personally love cats that won't back down from a dog.
