Default Texas Heeler - Copper

Hi all,

Love my new dog and love to show him off. Hope you all like Texas Heelers! His name is Copper and he is a rescue at 1 yr old. So smart that just a little training has gone a long way and he is a well behaved member of the family within a few weeks.

Pete

Here he is now

This is him when he first arrived at the shelter on left, and laying on my floor on right

Wow does he ever. Is that Aussie/Britney? They were calling mine a britney spaniel and i was like uhm yeah thats a heeler more than a britney! Im not an expert either. Tell me, does your dog like to chew things? Thats the only thing left to really train out. I take him about 5-6 miles a day, most of it running full tilt (i bike and he goes with me) So i feel like its either still not enough, or its just the puppy left in him.

Here is a few more pictures for the pic lovers!

My cat was trying to kill him (jealous cat)

This is him pooped after 4 miles on the bike

My wife with her dog, and mine (first day we had him)

Both of us POOPED after a long training session (teaching heel)

OMG! He is beautiful! Great pictures. The one with you and him on the couch is just priceless. He looks so comfy. Oh, and so do you. He looks like he's just fine with your wife's dog. What a lucky, lucky dog to have you!

We think Border Collie and Blue heeler. He doesnt chew on things but we have to watch him with the herding urge. For Frodo, brain activities seem to work better than physical activities to keep him calm. I walk him and work on obedience training and he likes to cross country ski with us if it would ever snow enough.
