Default Catahoula/aussie or blue/aussie?

I recently adopted what i believe is a texas heeler, Haggard, but the shelter thought he was a catahoula/aussie mix, i adopted him before he hit the humane society, since cattle dogs dont last a day at the humane society around here. so im not sure which he is, can anyone tell me one way or another? Thanks

I know hes gonna be perfect, he likes his hunting shows!

I don't know anything about Texas heelers or Catahoula Leopard dogs but he definitely looks like a Blue Heeler to my eyes, mainly because of the Merle pattern and cropped ears. I dunno, your guess is as good as mine

Australian Cattle Dog Other Names - Australian Heeler, Hall's Heeler, Queensland Heeler, Blue Heeler, Australian Cattledog, Australischer Treibhund, Texas Heeler.

They go by quite a few different names, but Haggard looks like a Heeler to me.

Oh but do I love that blue merle! Very striking. Why would he not last a day at the shelter? I'm hoping it's because he is so beautiful that someone would adopt him right away, and not for the other reason some dogs don't last long at shelters. Cattle dogs can be a lot to handle, but with training and consistency they can manage quite well with families.
