Alaskan Malamutes are more stubborn. lol I love both breeds.

malamute ears are my fav..

hmm I love them both..

Malamutes are lazier, but need lots of exersice because they tend to get fatter.. where as huskies are slimmer/smaller..

ugh.. ill answer tomorrow when im not so out of it

Malamutes are a lot bigger than huskies and have longer noses. I don't know anyone who's ever had a Husky but my friend used to breed Alaskan malamutes.

Malamutes are very intelligent and need a lot of training. Her male dog, Blaze, had to be put down in the end because he was simply un-trainable and he murdered they're cat and bit a child. But her female was the cutest thing ever, massive but gorgeous! when she stood on her back legs she could put her front paws on my friends shoulders.

I think a lot of people think it's all about the breed, but it's really not, it's about the individual dog and the up-bringing it's had already. Both breeds are hard work and need a lot of grooming and exercise, good luck with either, don't think I'd have the energy lol.

The malamute is about 85lbs for the males and 75lbs for the femaes. 24-26 inchees at sholders for males, 22-24 for females. But then you have the giant malamutes which are bred to be over 100lbs and up to 180, this is a problem for it can cause health issues.

Most malamutes have a tail that curls over their back.
they have brown eyes NOT blue. if they have blue they aren't purebred. or its a default in the line.
--

Then the Siberian husky which is around 40-60lbs for males and about 35-50lbs for females, about 21-23inches to males at shoulders, and 20-22 inches for females.

Siberians tails are down.
siberians have any color eyes. blue, brown, green, particolored, bi eyed...ect

Both dogs need alot of attention, And daily half hour walks. They aren't much barkers, but may howl at trains, or other piercing sounds.
Most often neither make a good guard dog, because they're either extremly friendly, or very shy.

Husky's were bred for speed. and to pull lighter loads. Malamutes were bred to pull heavier loads.

They are both very smart! and escape artists. You need to have a solid fence. with a dig gaurd about 3-4 feet along the fence.. needs to be no shorter then 6ft. They have a great sense of humor. They both need alot of socialisation, and lots of training. Even if you dont do sledding. They will test you to see if you are fit to be the alpha.

They need to be in a fence. NOT tied up-very bad for them, and for sure not loose. They will wander(its what was bred in them)

THey both need to be with their humans, or at least another dog. They are pack animals, and crave your attention.

in my own experiance, I prefer the males to females. Males to me are much more laid back and easier to handle. females seem more energetic. but it comes down to the dog! they all have a diffrent personality!!
