Default Poll: Mixed Breeds Health

Just for information purposes, you can remain 100% anonymous, but PLEASE be honest! The interest is in getting a rough idea of genetic disorders in mixed breed dogs. How common is it? Please be honest! Genetic disorders can range from allergies, to structural issues, certain cancers, inherited eye/ear problems, seizures... etc.

Although I haven't got a mixed breed now I've had plenty of mixed breeds in the past with no problems. I've included border collies in this?

I have never had a mixed breed so I canot post on the poll sorry. I think this is a good idea , provided everyone answers honestly it will be interesting to see the results.

Perhaps for comparison there should also be a poll on Pedigree Dogs??

Lol, yep I've had plenty of those! My Molly is a purebred, but she was rescued from a puppy farm, she's got quite a few problems

I think we can put purebreds and pedigrees together. At the end of the day they are just lacking a bit of paper.

Maybe we'll ask posters to elaborate.

are you saying that a pure bred with no KC reg papers is considered a cross breed?????????

rubys mum and dad are both KC reg...mum as a show cocker, dad is a working cocker...some of the litter were KC reg, some were not. the breeder gave the choice when we paid deposit...i said not woth it for ruby as i only wanted her as a pet and was never going to breed from her. i think 2 others said the same and 6 chose to be KC reg.

I think you misunderstood, Purebreds and Pedigrees are the same thing and therefore should be in the same post. With or without papers.
