Talking I need a good dog for...

Hello there again. I am getting my puggle puppy this Sunday morning. However, my roommates would also love to get a dog. What is a breed that is protective, gets along well with other animals (my puggle puppy and their cat), can live in an apartment with a small yard. Also, we will be able to get it plenty of exercise (they just built a dog park in our apartment complex! YAY!!!), and we would prefer a dog that does not shed much. Thanks for your help!

How big is your apt? You want to take into consideration the size of the apt and the dog...b/c the puggle is a small-ish dog, but if you get a largebreed dog and you already have a cat in the place...i would almost say that is too many animals for an apt. (take my word for it...4 largebreed puppies and momma running around apt had some scary moments)
