Unhappy New Puppy!

Hi guys,

How is everyone!! just wanted to let you know, after much deliberation my brother got my dad a puppy, but not the GSD as originally intended! He got Half American Bulldog and Half Rottweiler, he is so sweet and really placid dog hopefully he wil grow to be a gentleman, we are thinking of the nae Rocky, but not quite sure! let me know what you think! His best freind also took one of his brothers, which is the bck one in the picture, they both came from the same litter,

i also wanted to ask about his first night with us, we have put him in the utility room today and haven;t got a baby gate and so have shut the door with papers down, tomorrw i will get the baby gate and leave the door open where my parent don't really want him to sleep upstairs, is this the best way to get him used to sleeping on his own after being taken away from his brothers? where we feel bad when he has to sleep downstairs on his own for his first night, we have been old that if he sleeps upstairs he'll get used to it and then getting him to sleep downstairs will be a lot harder, ust not sure as he is whining and i feel so bad

Well that is great! Especially that he has such a nice disposition already as a puppy!
What can help him get used to being alone is to give him a soft place to sleep and a soft toy to cuddle up with. He will whine of course but if you give in and go comfort or cuddle him that will only make it take longer for him to adjust.
Best of luck for you, your brother and little Rocky (or whatver you end up calling him, sounds good to me )

I can see the Bulldog in the face looks like some Lab also? Geess poor guy is not gonna like being alone with the door shut. Could you not take him to bed with you, let him sleep down along side the bed.? They look older, are they last of the litter? I wish you the best in training it and hope it works out well for a good pet also. They look kinda intimadating to who is taking the pics.? Hope he stays a good dog for you or your dad. The best.. You could also play some music place a radio near by and burn a night light. I would never leave him in the dark honey. Best he can see, layer the paper heavy as he is kinda large and may go alot. Maybe lift the water at six pm till he is potty trained. He looks kind.....

hi, him and his brother are the first to go out of the litter, they are 10 weeks old, he has a soft bed and we have given him a couple of cuddly toys to sleep with, would it be easier do you think if i slept downstairs with him? tha would mean he's not on his own and then he would get used to sleeping down stairs
