Default I met a Bernese Mountain Dog over the weekend!

I went with a friend to one of my favorite stores over the weekend, it's called the Happy Dog Barkery. They sell gifts for dog lovers, like note papers, mugs and T-shirts; collars, leashes, bowls, specialized foods and bandanas. (And a small selection of cat goodies too ) But the best part is - they bake dog treats on site! My friend's mom has a Westie and we were there to get her a cookie to celebrate a lovely Saturday. While we were waiting in line to check out, a man came in with this great big dog on a leash, I thought it was a Saint Bernard. Just the prettiest colors, black, tan and cream and a big, fluffy tail. Someone else in line asked, and he said she was a Bernese Mountain Dog and they were there to get a cookie for her 6th Birthday. He said we could pet her and she let everyone in the store give her some pets and birthday wishes. He had her sit and she just hung out there and received petting. Just a great big, very gentle and happy dog. Then, as we were leaving, another dog and owner came in - this one on the opposite end of the size range, a black and white Papillon. They were there to get a treat because he had just finished his first puppy class and did well. What a fun store! I hope I get to have a dog some day.

Lucky you! I have always been a fan of Bernese Mountain Dogs. They are a wonderful breed!

I met a very different breed the other day as well. I was at Tim Horton's, and I looked out the window and saw this guy walking around with an Afghan Hound. He/She was gorgeous!

I love Bernese Mountain Dogs also....big fluffy goofy dogs. Now an Afghan Hound that's not something you see everyday, wonder why????..... I know they're listed as not being the smartest dog around the block....(sorry if anyone here has one....)

Bernese Mountain Dogs are gorgeous! There used to be one called Sasha who used to come and stay in our hotel every year, and she was just adorable so friendly!

My friend has one. They're lovely dogs, I'd like one sometime as would my mom.

I had 3 dogs, then for over 5 years had none (now we have Trooper), except my dog sitting babies. One of which was a great big lovey BMD. living in FL he was shaved down some, but the unique thing, poor baby he was cross eyed. It was cute though cause he looked at you kind of sideways. He was very special to me along with his wiem sis.

I happened to be lucky enough to cross paths with a BMD at pet smart a couple weeks ago. Absolutely gorgeous dog , I'd never seen one before and I wasn't alone because someone asked what kind of dog she was =)

Afghan hounds, i've never seen one in real life but I was a fan of that cartoon with the afghan hound -- can't remember the name of it now -- it was quite some years ago
