Here's a couple of my favourite pictures of Shankly, can't really help with any bad habits, as although he is not perfect he doesn't really have any bad habits. He doesn't chew, he is friendly with other dogs and he generally does as he is told.

shankly your dog is lovely. Have you had him nutered yet? The only habbit my baileys has got is jumping up. She doesnt do it to me or my son but to my partner and everyone else she does. Do you have any suggestions on how to stop this.

Laura, he is almost two and I haven't had him nutered and also have no plans to (I also don't plan to breed from him, I just don't believe in surgery that isn't needed).
Shankly had a habit a while ago of jumping up at people when they first came into the house. We got round this problem by telling the people he was jumping at to ignore him until he sat. Once he sat they stroked him, he seems to have got the message that he won't be stroked until he is calm.

Hi

I have two staffys - Denzel who is about 6 yrs old and is the grumpy old man and Molly who is 1 yr next month and is the little princess. (I'm trying to post some pics but they are too big or something so will try to resize them).

Anyway, we've not had a problem with jumping up but a relative of mine used a water pistol and said it worked wonders. Just a little squirt as the dog jumps up. (Seems a bit harsh and would make for a soggy carpet but if it becomes a big problem you could try it...)

Does anyone know what to expect from a Staffy's first season? Molly is having her first season and seems to be bleeding heavily and has been for 15 days. Most of the forums say bleeding is around 5 - 9 days...
