Question Help registering puppies

Hello, I HAVE A FRIEND THAT HAS JUST HAD 10 mastive puppies, both parents have papers but can't find them or whatever. How does one go about registering new born puppies. They are 1 week old now.

Hmm, well when we adopted Colbi we had to bring her to the vet for the rest of her shots and we got her papers done then...so maybe bring them to the vet?

I'm not entirely sure but I think you need the registered number of the sire and dam, but not nessesarily the actual physical papers to do it, but obviously those would help if they didn't know their numbers.

Are they trying to register with AKC? If so they can go here to fill it out:

http://www.akc.org/pdfs/literap.pdf

And these are the requirements for the litter to be registered:

http://www.akc.org/reg/registeralitter.cfm

If I'm incorrect someone feel free to post the correct info.

I imagine you should be able to contact the AKC or a local Mastiff Association and they could help you out.

If your friend had the papers for the parents then they should be able to contact the AKC and request copies. If your friend didn't register the parents themselves then maybe the kennels they came from would have a copy.

I'm sure they can get duplicate copies of the registration papers from the registering body. While requesting those, they should be able to request litter registration forms.
