Default My [email protected] crashed

Im running quite much on my computer so with the folding program Im almost using the whole capacity and some more. It decided to crash..
But when I started it up again it didnt continue where it left off. I didnt see the countdown or anything. now it is just saying: waiting for core and a number also downloaded something but I got a downloading error nr 13.
What does all this mean??
Thankies!

Up at the top where it says it couldn't find the work directory - is that the first time you ran the program? If so, that's just fine and completely normal. Down below, it shows the work unit cruising along just fine until the program was shut down. Nothing appears to be out of the ordinary. The log does not show the work unit not picking up where it left off.

Could you walk me through exact when you got the error and what the program did in response to it?

Well I was overloading my computer.. I run 2-3 browsers, skype, msn, googletalk, and my email.. that one downloads in average 8 emails/min it checks every minute due to this.. all of a sudden things started really go slooooow... sometimes I need to reboot browsers cause they dont let go of the ram. So the program was none responding, so I closed it and ever since then when I open it it says error at same time, it starts downloading and then error again.. etc etc..

I just realize it doesnt even show when it crashes... I just see it on my screen and nothing in the log..

The folding program will not cause the system to overload because it automatically scales back usage when other programs need to use the processor. It does this by telling Windoes that the folding program has a low priority while the vast majority of programs are labeled as normal. The scaling happens in a blink of an eye (faster, really), so there's no issue with it lagging at all.

Anyway, find your folding directory, and delete the work directory. You will lose your unfinished work, but that should reset everything and get you back in business.

So in other words- since it says it is running, and although I cant see the icon, - it just scaled back for now, and should return?
I really hate to loose what it already did. It was flying last night.. and my computer is telling me its running- I just cant see it.

If you don't see the icon in the tray for the graphical version, the program is not running. When it is running, the icon will stay down there, but the program will take a back seat to anything else that needs to use the computer's processor. One way you can see this in action is to open your task manager. The exact way to do this depends on your operating system. The most common ways are to right click on your menu bar and select the task manager option or to hit CTRL-ALT-DEL once (and only once or else you'll reboot!) and pick the task manager option. Once it's open, click on the processes tab and then click on the CPU column once or twice until it's sorted descending (0s on the bottom, higher numbers on the top). The FahCore__.exe is the folding process. The CPU usage will be high when the computer is not otherwise being used (it will show as 50-100%, depending on your setup). When you're running other programs actively, you'll see that number scale back. Try it out, and you can see it in action.
