I Love this story. How heart warming. Not the same, but when my Dad enlisted in the Navy at the outbreak of WWII, he went to Boot Camp and then out to Australia where hew as stationed. He left behind his English Setter quail dog, Flash. His older brother and his parents all tell the same thing--when Flash saw Daddy coming up the road she went berserk with joy and ran to meet him and carrying on so. And Daddy had been gone almost 4 years. You would think a dog would remember a person after that length of time, but my uncle and my grandparents all say it happened that way. Flash remembered Daddy.
