Default Fair play and dogs

"The sense of fair play is an important human trait, but new research suggests that it's a key behaviour for dogs and wolves as well."

I'm not sure about the statement that pet dogs are more tolerant to inequity. Just try giving a treat or a toy to one of your dogs and not the other.....

Rascal will split her cuddle time between hubby and I. Though I think she prefers his lap (It's bigger!)

Especially Annie and Dunny are well aware of equal treatment, and basically "demand" it.

It doesn't surprise me in the least. It has always been my belief that dogs have more emotions, more feelings than given credit for. I saw my KayCee grieved when her litter mater brother died from his ProHeart6 injection when they had just turned 4. It took our other female golden to pull Kase out of her depressions, and then 5 years later when Kase died, Honey grieved for over a month. It was heart breaking.

I know they feel jealousy. Give one a lot of attention and the other pushes in to get "their share". So this doesn't surprise me in the least.
