Default Aiko had obedience class

Aiko came, sat, approached the "scary" objects, tried to greet other dogs, wandered off with a strange person and then decided not to listen to them despite being perfect with me, and was bored within 15mins. Spitz breeds. Always have multiple treats. It is nice to have a food motivated dog for once though. My akita doesn't care a whole lot about food, will not stick a nonfood item in her mouth so toys are worthless, and it's 50/50 if she cares enough about my opinion. That was what I started with as my first puppy lol It was half begging, half giving commands at any time. Aiko has some resource guarding (she took a frozen container of baby food we were using as a lick treat and would not return it) and she was a bit bouncy here and there but otherwise Aiko is easy. Aiko earned a badge. Then Aiko ate her badge and I had to chase it down and trade her a ball of paper (nearest harmless thing to give) to get it back.

Sounds like she did good for a baby girl. Also sounds like she had fun, which is important.

Aiko eating her badge made me laugh! She certainly sounds like a dog that knows what she wants and it's nice to hear that she is doing so well. I agree with you that having a food motivated dog makes thing so much easier.. and thankfully both of mine are.
