Someone earned his first agility title today! In just three trials Ion put it all together and earned his NAJ (Novice Agility Jumpers)! Check it out... this was our SECOND run of the day literally 8 hours past his first run of the day. Though not flawless, he is SPIRITED.

Here is his first run of the day in Standard, this was at around 8:30ish... don't blame him for the Tire, I stuttered there and couldn't get the directions out. He went the way I was indicating like a good boy. This was his 2nd leg in Novice Standard.
Tomorrow we run in Open Jumpers for the first time. Love my little man!!! ![]() Meanwhile... Ashenpaw also ran today and kicked tail with two flawless runs <between both dogs we were 4 for 4 today>. We earned his Second leg in Excellent P Jumpers, and his First leg in Masters P Standard!
![]() One very proud agility dog mom!

Congratulations! Great work. Ion looks like 'Mr. October' now. I think that was your picture on here at one time.

Yes, Techie, that's right Mr. October is Ion's Grandpa... and as he is maturing he IS looking remarkable similar to Parker despite the color differences.

Thanks Lucky Nucky Pie, it takes quite a bit of training... but is WELL worth the effort to lay out the groundwork. These are my two current agility dogs (and first two!) I am currently working on my third--Presto is real newbie to everything at this point. But he's already starting to pick up concepts.
If you want to get involved, I suggest going to trial or several and talking to the people there. Watch what they are doing and get a good idea of what's involved, then you can locate a trainer to help guide you. ![]()

I think my current dog is too anxious yet to enjoy an agility class, let alone a trial! He will never be a confident, bombproof doggy (I know and understand this!), but I am so proud of him for doing small things like walking down the street without fear or coming with me on a hike and showing curiosity at the surroundings instead of shutting down. I celebrate these small victories. If he ever gets a title in agility, it would mean the world for the both of us. But for now, I will keep my goals small and reachable, but a girl can always dream, right?

Agility training builds confidence... you never know. One of the earliest goals in the ground-work is to get them to step onto a wobble board and learn that it is ok for something to shift under them. Chat with some people who run at trials--you will discover that quite a few got into the sport specifically TO build the confidence in their dogs.
