Default Video Challenge # 6 : Sit, Stay, Stop!

ok so this time the challenge is going to be a sit, stay, (or wait) and stop exercise, you place your dog in a sit, walk away from your dog 10-20 paces face your dog, give the recall command, and when your dog gets halfway to you give the stop command halting your dog from further movement, then recall your dog all the way to your side i know this is a more difficult exercise but thats why its a challenge right?

so lets see those videos!! mine will be up tommorow as is too dark right now to film it

you have a kodak right? if so, you should have gotten a cable with your cam, one end goes into the camera, the other to a usb port, you have to install the kodak easyshare program, if your cam did not come with a disk you can download it for free at kodak.com it should atomatically put your pics in the kodak easyshare program and you just go from there (when uploading to a site like photobucket you have to go into my documents then my photos then kodak pictures to get to them) hope that helps

Wow this is gonna be interesting. Breagha can't sit. Her legs get in the way so she doesn't bother. Todd can do an akward sit, it may not be a sit to everey one, but it IS a sit to him and me . Not sure about the stop and stay thing, but we'll have a go later.
Wish us luck!

I never taught the word "stop" exactly-I used "stay" and it worked just as well. Some people prefer "wait."

I'll be uploading mine later. I used "wait" and then "come" and then "sit" half way between and then "come" again. I got videos of Kiara and Mufasa doing this last night and will try to get Simba and Nala today (they were sleeping when I was filming last night.)

cool! cant wait to see them Kay!

and for me, when i train a stop command i use hand signals, i use the same hand command for stay and stop, but diff. voice commands for a stay i hold my hand out palm facing the dog, and when i am teaching stop, i use the same command and the command stop, the dog usually already knows the hand command and picks up from that. im sure i do things more complicated than most but it works for me lol

Here are mine. Sophia was so excited that I was happy with her that she started doing zoomies. Hard to believe she'll be five years old next month! Oh to have the love of life of a Golden Retriever!
