Default Silly video: Zircon aka Pele

Now that I have this stuff up on Photobucket it is easier to post.
Anyway, I think if we had waited to name Zircon I might have named him "Pele". His favorite thing to do is bunt the ball into the air with his head, just like a soccer player. This is one of my first attempts at editing and adding sporty music to the video clips of my little athlete.

Oh, I loved it! Great job on the vid. He looks like he had a grand time. I would have loved to be there to play too. Thanks for sharing it with us.

Shelby and I enjoyed it Jean...she was barking at Zirc as I played the video *woof! woof!*

Looks like Zirc had a lot of fun

I'm curious, what software did you use to create the film?

What software.....you would have to ask!!
well the main part of the video editing I do using "Video Impression." This is the video editing software that comes bundled with the Canon Power Shot. It lets you do some primitive things like the transitions and adding the text overlay, also change brightness and contrast. It does not let you do much with audio except narrate using a microphone.

The audio is trickier. If I find a wav file that I like I use wavepad (shareware) to edit it (cut out whole chunks) and get it to the length that I like. If you are using wavepad in the first 30 days or are willing to pay for the software you can convert any kind of file containing audio (like wmv) to a wav file.

So what I do first is edit the video to the point where I have it at about the right length in terms of time so it matches the audio. Then I use virtual dub (open source) to substitute the audio from the wav file for the original audio. It used to be that I could extract the audio from the original video (including the barks etc) and overlay it onto the music, but my 30 days have run out.
Virtualdub offers the option of altering the frame rate so that if you are slightly off (like the audio lasts 1'55" and the video is 1'59") it can change the frame rate so that both end at the same time. My frame rate is normally about 29 fps. The slow motion is I think about 8 fps. That is another thing you can do with virtualdub is the slomo.

Careful, it is addictive!!

I'll bet...I have you to thank for getting me hooked on the animated gifs, LOL! Sounds like fun, I haven't tried to edit any video clips yet, I think we may have some software for doing something like that, it may have come with our Sony computer...would have to check.
Thanks for sharing the info Jean
