I sort of thought Cheynie would be teaching Timi new things!

Looks like a puppy pad, seems to be the favorite thing for puppies to rip up. At least it was not a whole roll of toilet paper that Kris and Bonnie got hold of. Should have taken a picture of that mess.

It is...or was...a puppy pad. Timi hasn't had enough shots yet begin going outside and I think the steps are going to be a problem for him with his missing leg part so we are going to take the slow and steady route for him. I have the number to schedule an appointment for him with the head of North Shore's medical center for his orthopedic evaluation but I wanted to wait until after he has his shots (Sunday) and until the end of next week to call as I am taking my bil for his cataract surgery and follow ups next week as well. Cheynie has zero experience with puppy pads... she is more the "eviscerator"--destuffing toys and things. This episode was all little Timi's idea!

Iam wondering if little Timi will adopt with potty training! it's possible that he will learn to squat as he wont be able to cock his leg!! Dogs are very quick to adapt to challenges! Do let us know if he does. How old now Janice?

Potty training for Timi will be a little different than for the other pups I have had and I think it could well take a little longer. His mobility is actually great considering his disability but stairs are going to have to wait until the ortho vet has done the evaluation and a plan of treatment is decided upon. When he arrived in Provo from Grand Turk, his shorter rear leg was open and bleeding and very raw, so the kinds of surfaces he was allowed on were limited. It has healed beautifully and he does well indoors, on the deck and on the grass. Concrete is likely too abrasive for him just now and we have concrete all around the house even to get to the lawns. I have a little sock to put on that leg when he is out on another surface but since he hasn't completed his shots yet, I can't really take him anyplace to "go" without encountering concrete etc. As well, he is just a little guy with a little bladder so by the time I get the sock on, leash him up, and get him up the steps, it is "too late" :-) I'll be looking for the ortho vet's input about his mobility when we have our appointment. I am so hoping he is a candidate for a prosthesis...and a temporary one as well...which should make things a bit easier for him.

He is such a little guy but a fighter too he isn't going to let his injured leg in the way that's for sure!! Give him a gentle hug from me and Nipper
