Default >>>Mr. Buddylee and bro: A Fine Jack/Basset Pair<<<

First Off, I donít usually think that small dogs need a Winter wardrobe to survive our outdoor climate. Wolves didnít have a selection of Winter garments to make their environment more tolerable. Our 8.5 pound, 4.5 month old Jack Russell recently re-located from Florida to New Hampshire and the 38 degree Spring weather is unpleasantly, cold. Moseyís little body quivers until we reach the second half of his walk, and then the red fleece is removed. Brother Buddylee, finds the chilly conditions invigorating. This photo of a fine Jack/Basset duo was taken on the state line in Rollinsford, NH, just across the Salmon Falls River from South Berwick Maine. By the way, Three human long-sleeved fleece pullovers, were converted into vests to provide Mosey with a complete selection of cosey, canine coverings.
What are your thoughts about dog apparel?

Whether or not your dog requires a jacket or a coat is going to have a lot to do with what kind of dog you have, the type of fur the dog has, and where you live:

Cheynie has almost no undercoat and I wouldn't think of taking her out in the cold unless she was adequately protected.

Thanks for your response. I can't ignore a pup that shivers in the unseasonably cold weather.

Dunny hadn't needed any "clothes" until this winter as it was much colder and for a longer time period. He seemed to enjoy wearing his sweaters, and they have been put away for next year. Great picture of the brothers!

Mosey is looking mighty handsome in his new doggy apparel! Very nice. And of course, Mr. Buddylee is as handsome as ever!

We have a coat for Rascal. She even used it this winter during one abnormally cold spell . Currently we are having an abnormally hot spell and none of us are used to the heat right now.

I think dogs should wear clothing if they're cold. My short-haired, 7 lb. Chihuahua usually wears a hoodie here in San Francisco. She also has a quilted winter coat. Mosey looks warm and stylish in his red vest!

If your pup is cold, by all means put a coat on him. My little long hair Chi Scooter, will have no part of any apparel at all. Harley loves the cold, so there isn't any issue. If Mosey is cold and shivering, he needs a coat. Love me some BuddyLee!!!! He's as handsome as ever!
