I agree. Everything is new to her right now. She has just found her new soul mate and she 's afraid that you are going to leave her and not come back. As soon as she settles in and realizes that you are coming back she will be comfortable with your leaving. We had trouble with Dunbar when we first adopted him. We set up key phrases. During the day when I have to run errands, I tell him "Be back soon" . He's a dog who wants to go in the car when anyone leaves, but when my husband tells him "Going to work", he settles down, and doesn't start looking for him until late afternoon. Try setting up a phrase that tells her that you're coming back. Good luck with your precious girl.

I'll try that with the phrase and see if it does any good over the next few weeks.

It's the same with children - when you have a baby, you have to practise going in and out, so that they learn that when you go, you will come back.

I'll have to do this when Odie comes home in the week!
