Default Black ice

We almost got to go for a walk this morning, in fact, we got all the way out the door to the driveway. And there it was...everywhere! Black ice and an almost invisible coating of ice on all the walks and on the street. What an odd feeling to put your foot down and have it go sideways when you step on it. Cheynie, too, had some problems sliding on the ice. Before either of us ended up sitting on the ice and looking at each other, I cancelled the walk (much to "someone's" disappointment) and playtime was indoors. It cleared a bit this afternoon, but by about dinnertime it was back. I happened to be outside waiting for my mother's return from dialysis and I looked up as a car went speeding by. I remembered thinking that was too fast even for clear and warm weather. Sure enough, as I watched it the car smashed into another car parked at the corner. There was a huge crash but thankfully no one was hurt. It's hard, though, to explain to a energy filled puppy why some days are indoor days :-(

Janice, same thing here. My Husband was trying to leave for work. The cars and truck was covered in ice. I begged him to stay home from work, but he made an attempt to go in. He was driving down the road. not even a mile from our house, when one of the Doctors called and told him not to come in. The parking lot and roads were a mess, with multiple accidents. Both Harley and Scooter only went out today when they had no other choice... the back deck was solid ice too. Now the temps are rising, and we should be up to 60 tomorrow..... crazy winter!

Scary conditions, and even scarier driver! Both you and Dee made the right decision not to go out. Very cute picture of Cheynie in her hoodie.

We are supposed to get our first night of well below freezing temperatures tonight, and now they say it's only the one night. I still feel we have 'missed out' because we haven't had any snow

Poor little Cheynie. Just glad the two of you didn't take a tumble.

So sad for Cheynie! I am glad you both didn't take a tumble too. That's no fun.

It has been above freezing all day today and the roads are a muddy mess but at least it is not freezing. The only trouble is it will probably freeze tonight and with parts of the highway clear, any water on them will be solid ice.

That is exactly what happened here. Today we hit a high of 60 degrees and actually had a thunder storm. Lots and lots of rain. We are expecting snow again on Wednesday.

It was warmer last night than during the day here. 50f last night and 40+ today. One windstorm last night and another this afternoon during the Seahawk's game. Sady wanted to cuddle during the wind.

That was quite the winter rain storm yesterday. It looked like it was clearing up so I put on heavy jeans and left for our morning walk. About 1/3 the way through the walk another heavy round cam in. Fortunately hubby was home to come rescue us! Got very wet even though I had my hood up!
Rascal got a real walk in the afternoon with hubby. The rain slowed down some then.
