Default Cheynie's first real snow (braving the cold!)

I summoned up all my courage and decided to let Cheynie have her first real snow experience despite the cold. It is supposed to rain tomorrow and the next day and I figured if I waited, much of the snow might wash away. The first two links are to two videos I took of her in the yard. In the first one, she had just gotten outside and was still in the process of figuring out what this stuff was (obviously not quite the same as the sand in Caicos!). In the second one, she wore me out. She went round and round that pool so many times that I began to think she must have OCD and she was making me dizzy! She evidently loves the snow and is oblivious to the cold. The nice thing is that I think she must be part duck; the snow just shook off of her and she was almost instantly dry!

Those are great. In the first it is like she is trying to decide if this is good or bad and LOVED how she fooled you a few times in the second

As soon as she figured out that she could run around the pool and then turn and go the other way so I wouldn't see her, she became obsessed with doing it. It was so cold and she is a lot better at running in the snow than I am so I finally stopped and stood still. She kept trying to get me to chase her again and it took a while until she gave up and decided to do laps again. I was more than ready to go inside but she seemed to think that "come" is only an inside word.. "recall"? What's "recall"?

Cheynie and Kris would have a great time together. Kris runs down my driveway and back around the outside fence, over and over again. She has a track through the snow. I can't get a video as she stops when I go outside but she has the same look on her face as Cheynie, especially when the snow is deep.

Ha, I wonder if the look on your face was the same as mine ("Are you out of your mind you silly dog? It is freezing out here!") Right now she is very busy proving true the adage about tired dogs being good dogs... she is out cold in her crate and I am enjoying the benefits of her "being good"

Love the videos of Cheynie running in the snow. Wish I had her energy. We (including Dunny) went in town and ran a bunch of errands this afternoon. Ate at Sonic since we have no Pet Deli. Tonight, Dunny and I have been sleeping off and on. Dunny is still asleep. My husband's glad we're being "good" while he's watching football on tv.

Is your husband a believer in the "tired dog/good dog" thing applied to family?

So true! It always worked with our girls when they were growing up. Now it works on Dunny and me.

Great videos, it was so funny that she kept 'hiding'. Next game snowballs, it's so funny when they catch them and there is nothing to bring back
