Default Miya's little shadow

Not sure if you guys remember my brother's chihuahua but she's grown! She's 4lbs now(and a little over a year old) but sure doesn't act like it-when she's around Miya she is completely her shadow. She follows her everywhere and does everything she does. They even play together(well by trading off toys and bones XD- She might not know her size but Miya does so she is gentle with her)

My little brother was worried because unlike most chihuahuas(what's common for them) his never shakes*unless there is cold weather* and she is very friendly with people, never barks or is afraid of anyone or anything. He thought something was wrong with her and brought it up to the vet and when my brother told the vet about her and Miya playing/interacting with each other the vet said she probably picked up on Miya's behavior and acts the same way that she does(and she thinks she's the same size too)

Ama, how cute!!!! I know I was never a small dog person myself, but Scooter is a long hair Chi and he was raised with Collies. Harley is a good 60 pounds and the both of them play all the time. I raised little Scooter like a big dog , so that's all he knows. A dog is a dog... no matter what size they are. Small dogs get such a bad rap for a reason. They are not pocket toys... they are dogs. Raise them and train them properly, just like you would do with a medium or large dog. My "little" Scooter is a small dog that thinks he's huge. He's not a yappy, snappy little thing at all. My vet loves him, and so do I.

What a cute pair! Nice to have an update on Chloe.

Chihuahuas have a terrible reputation, as I found out when I got Rosie. But here we have three great ones in this thread.

Rosie developed a fear of some bigger dogs, especially when they're (grr) off leash, when she was about 1.5 years old. She knows she's tiny. I just let her decide which dogs to greet and which to avoid. She has many big dog friends, and is absolutely fascinated by the American Eskimo who lives in our building.

Aww, so cute!! Well, three in one thread is great. Unfortunatley Little Lucy, who is half chi is well, not so friendly. I got her when she was almost 5 months old and she was already very shy with people. I tried to train her to like people but wasnt able to. She is fine with other dogs and the cats too. I'm so glad to hear Chloe is a friendly fun little girl.

You can only work with what you've got-from what I've seen, Little Lucy is a great companion to you. Which is wonderful Being good with cats/other dogs is a great thing too! I'm sure even if you got her earlier you would still end up with the same result, you can only do so much training/socializing. But you can't change genetics-some dogs are just born with weak nerves(or strong nerves or somewhere in between). Some dogs are just timid due to their genetics.

I remember reading that about scooter before. It is great to see small dogs who are well behaved/socialized. The problem a majority of the time with Chihuahuas(and other small breeds) is that their owners don't treat them like dogs-they give them no structure/don't discipline them/etc. It's not always the case but most bad behaved small dogs I've seen are that way because of that reason. When I see well behaved small dogs(well any sized dog actually) I always say something about it to their owner(mostly 'good job with your dog' type thing).

Thanks everyone else who commented on this

Also- Sorry if I mentioned this somewhere but wanted to clear it up-the Chi's name isn't Chloe, it's Keeneva.
