Default Mr. Buddylee: Thoughts of Porkchops and Bacon.

Mr. Buddylee spotted an unusual looking city pet being offloaded from a small SUV on Congress Street in downtown Portsmouth. We watched for several minutes, as the owner tried to coax the animal down the ramp by dropping little peces of kibble in front of her. The, leash tugging hound, was ready to make a new friend but the pig's owner stopped us in mid stride. She asked us to stay away because little piggy didn't like hounds (dogs in general). We switched direction and met the parking meter reader several feet away who said "Buddylee had visions of porkchops and bacon". He then took a snack biscuit out of his pocket and had the Happy Hound sit for his treat.

So cute! I heard that pigs can be house trained and are very clean creatures if allowed to be.

techie, I heard that pigs are actually smarter than dogs. Remember the show Green Acres? They had a trained pig on that show. Mr. Buddylees little pig is very cute!

Well I didn't know that! How ever a dog is still very smart! Just watching The Secret Life Of Dogs seen it before
but man in wheel chair had a car accident his faihful Golden Retriever not only covered him over with his wheel chair blanket not only found his mobile phon phone for him but went to hotel to raise the Alarm how is that I can't see a pig doing all that! It would make a good debate though

Yes. Pigs are surprisingly smarter than dogs. Scientist say that a pig is as intelligent as a three year old human.

That depends on the individual pig and the dog.

In general, a pig may be smarter then an american bulldog, chihuahua, english bulldog and afghan hound but not so much against a collie, lab, husky or poodle.

According to the person who edited, That means that pigs are on average the SAME intellect as the average dog. Many studies have proven that dogs are not only the animal who exhibit the most human like traits, such as looking to the left when meeting someone new, but are on par with our three year olds as well.

If, Buddy was thinking pork chops and bacon then he is obviously smarter than a pig that doesn't like dogs. Must have been quite a site seeing this in the middle of town.

Pigs might be smart but I'd rather eat one than have it for a pet.

Have only seen one other pet pig. Years ago, we were visiting an antique shop in a neighboring town and there lying in the middle of the floor was a large pig. My youngest who was around 5 at the time loved it and immediately wanted us to have one. However, we never did.
