Default Mr. Buddylee Watches The Salt Pile Grow.

Winter is coming, Winter is coming. Portsmouth New Hampshire is still an active seaport. Granite State Minerals has been in Portsmouth since 1959, importing road sand and salt for the rough New England winters. This yard loads up with the newly formed mountains starting in early October. The photos are all taken within 1000 feet of the center of town and Mr. Buddylee walks past this location several times a week. Be sure to click HERE to see other views. The 26 ton, 181 meter cargo ship was built in Japan, owned by Greeks and registered in the Bahamas.

Wow! Now that is a lot of sand and salt. How high do those piles actually get?

I've only been through one New England winter...and if I were Mr. Buddylee I'd be thinking about spending the winter where the cargo ship is registered!

In 3 weeks Mr. Buddylee heads to his Florida home. Those piles do look scary when you think of the the cold, icy Winters.

60 feet? I'm thinking I am happy to live here in Delaware. I was wondering when you and Mr. Buddylee would be heading South.

We arrive in Florida just in time to hand out Halloween candy. The trip South takes us 3 days.

Have a good trip. Our indian summer is ending. We have fog today and the rains are to start tomorrow. I have my rain gear out and ready.
