Default Mr. Buddylee Amongst the Pumpkins.

A great location for a Fall pumpkin portrait. This scenic 78 acre family farm in Lee, NH has a 6 acre corn maze and an indoor farm stand. Does anyone know what the tall cage, in back of Mr. Buddylee, is called and what is it used for? CLICK HERE for a behind the scene photo of getting the right angle.

Mr Buddylee always comes across in his photos as such a sweet and patient guy! Could the cage be an aviary?

What is an indoor farm stand?

Wow, what a great farm. Love the shot of the trees changing. Mr. Buddylee looks relaxed as usual, taking in the sights and sounds. I have no guess for the tall cage, but I like Applesmom's take on it.

I love the fact that he seems so welcome wherever he goes...so which pumpkin did he pick for you to carry home?

What's he going to be for halloween?
I'm thinking Sadie should be Old Yeller or Cujo after they become rabid.

The cage is used by pumpkin farmers to store pumpkins in while waiting for the truck to haul them to market. They put kids in the cage to catch the pumpkins as a loader drops them from the top. The kids have to keep climbing the pumpkins as the put them down but usually they can't catch fast enough, get bonked, fall down and then get delivered to Walmart where they wander the aisles aimlessly wondering where their mother went. They are seldom noticed by employees or shoppers because they have the same dazed look on their face as everyone else in the store.

I won't be at all surprised if one of those goofy reality shows latches on to that idea.

Good answer Mr. John - I'm impressed by your creativity (and your attitude towards small children...
If I'm not mistaken (which I've been known to..), the screen tower is one of the older styles of corn cribs used to store cattle corn. The box contraption in the middle allowed the corn to get air from more than just the outside. Cattle corn needed to dry some but not get moldy when doing so.

Nice pics of Mr. Buddylee!!

As always Mr Buddylee is a gentleman welcome anywhere.
Mr. John even brought a smile to my face.
