Default Mr. Buddylee Loves Fresh, Gulf Shrimp From Captain Art.

Mr. Buddylee quickly adapts to his southern home and its surroundings. The experience of trekking through 5” of cold, wet, slushy snow is a distant memory (really only 7 days ago). Buddylee’s well-rounded diet includes fresh, local shrimp from a friendly, local fish monger, Captain Art. The truck graphics tell the story at the corner of US 19 and Follow That Dream Highway. Our Hound passes on the horse radish laced cocktail sauce, and prefers the crisp, sweet taste of the lightly boiled, pink crustaceans by themselves.

Mr. Buddylee has good taste! I had a dog years ago who had never countersurfed in her life. One holiday, I had shrimp cocktail in pretty beds of lettuce with horseradish sauce neatly arranged in lovely crystal bowls that I had prepared to serve. I had to leave the kitchen for something and when I returned I had... lovely crystal bowls with horseradish sauce and lettuce.

You do know that it is a LOT more wonderful in retrospect than it was at the time, lol.

SIGH!!!!

I so miss my fresh gulf shrimp and all the rest of the fresh seafood!

I'm not quite counting the days (just the months...lol) until I can retire and go back to the lifestyle you guys enjoy! Winters on the gulf coast were the bestest!

GJLI, thanks for my morning laugh! It reminds me of my Twin Sister and her Dobermans. They were great dogs, very well trained, blah, blah, blah. One Thanksgiving she was having family and friends over. She was going to have a buffet dinner. She had a fully cooked ham and turkey out on the counter in the kitchen. She needed to run out, and when she came back, both were gone. It's funny now, but it wasn't then.

I have had that thought to become a snow bird a time or two.

I like the winter for the most part. Ice fishing and snowmobiling are good fun.

But every year at sometime during the winter I get the itch for someplace warmer.

Fresh gulf seafood is awesome. I live about an hour and a half away from Panama City Beach, FL, so we always have pretty good seafood here, and it's a nice day trip to make the drive down there too. We actually had some fresh raw oysters over the weekend. They were delicious.
