Default Not around much, and so much happened

so we lived in belgium for two years after leaving wales. it was a tough 2 years as none of us apart from blake liked it.
we have just over two weeks ago been moved back to uk, and all seemed good. apart from me having to leave poor blake in the kennels in belgium till last weekend, as he was not ready to enter uk due to a mixup with his paper work. so the poor boy spend 3 weeks in a Belgian kennel. which i thought i had very carefully selected.
as i went to pick him up i had to go by myself with my 11 year old son, as my hubby is in Canada since march. so i planned the trip, aloud for plenty of extra time, just to get stuck on a broken down shuttle 5 min from the platform in France. we were stuck there for 3 hours.
so my friend had to go and get blake from the kennels, and the poor woman has asthma and is allergic to dogs. and take him to the vet, how i love that woman for her true friendship.
so at least this way my way back with blake could go smoothly because of the 24/48 hour rule on tick and worm treatment before entering UK.
my poor pooch was stinking real bad and had lost some weight, but was more than happy to see us. so as a hello present the poor thing got a wash in my friends back garden as i could not have travelled with him smelling that way in the rental car (mine car broke 2 days before travelling)
at least the way back was reasonably uneventful, apart from me nearly having a collision with a dopey seeming pheasant on the fast lane of the motorway 1 hour from home.......
so we all thought all is well, to find out my husband came of the first wave of redundancies the army is doing to safe money, so we are due to be moving again in the next few months, back to northern ireland. its all stressful now, find a job and a place to live as we had originally planned to emigrate to nz but have sacked those plans for various reasons.
at least poor pooch will be travelling with us and not left behind this time.
i love that pooch so much
here is a picture of our last ever walk in belgium, i wont be sad if i dont see that country ever again......

DasTwerp, welcome back to the forum! Wow, it sounds like your family and Blake have been through quite a bit of challanges! He sure is one handsome boy! Thank goodness you have such a great friend.

thank you DeeLind7
yes i am very greatful to have my dear friend, and she is the only reason i will be visiting belgium from time to time.
it will be a frustrating few months ahead, but once everything is sorted i am sure we will all settle happily into our new home.
just need to get the hubby back now so we can start sorting things.
blake is doing fab, he is back to his usual happy self cuddly but not a velcro dog.
and i am over the moon to have him back safe and sound.

Wow Babs, you certainly have had a plateful of things to deal with! I'm glad to hear that Blake is back with you. I'm sure he is as happy to be "home" as you are to have him. When you go house hunting again, make sure wherever you land that you have a good internet connection, I've missed hearing about Blake :-)

DeeLind7, my daughters 18 year old friend did it for me as a thank you, still paid the girl for her fab work though, and that pic helped me through the 23 days without my pooch, at least he was looking at me every day from the pic.

JGLI, yes i had a plate full and it is not over yet. but thanks to my husband being a certified and qualified computer geek as i call him we sure will have internet. and once the next few weeks months are over and we are settled you will be bombarded with blake pictures and stories.

techie, i think thats the first bath ever he actually smiled through lol

Well, the painting is fantastic! I could not imagine being seperated from my dogs for 23 days. I have a hard time leaving them for a weeks vacation, visiting my family. I'm glad he is now home with his Mom, and smelling fine!
