Default The picture of contentment

I found these Kong-like toys, they're hollow with a hole on either end about 3/8" (1 cm) that you can stuff broken bits of treats into. Boy what a rainy day entertainer they turned out to be! Both of my two spent hours trying to get the little treat bits out and forgot all about not being able to go outside in the pouring rain!

They do look interesting...and Chessie loves hollow, "tube-y" kinds of things as paper towel rolls are her favorite. If I see these I will pick them up. Yesterday when I went shopping I bought her a 'noodle". It's really pool toy for kids, about five feet long, hollow spongey material (too easy to chew up so I had thought it would be a supervised outdoor toy). When they get wet they get squishy so I thought she might enjoy cooling off with it. I took her outside with it today and .......she hated it. Didn't bother with it at all. I even tried cutting it in half thinking she was afraid because it was too big. She still hated it and preferred a beat up plastic cup :-( Do you know what the toys that Zirc and Sophia have are called and where they may be purchased?

Great! Cool Jean, put some pieces of cheese also in them, biscuits, anything to keep them so sweet n calm. Rainy days are going to be plentyiful as have been and then comes winter lot of snow, but you ski and enjoy that at least. Good dogs you have.

They sure do look like they are enjoying their new kongs. I love the way Zircons legs are splayed out while he eats.

I got these at a local overstock store for $2. They are called "Hartz Funbell"
http://www10.shopping.com/xPO-Hartz-...spenser-Sml-48
and they shouldn't be too hard to get hold of. I searched for "Funbell" and also found this:
http://shop.robbinspetcare.com/funbe...05a81769862331
which looks like something made with dogs like Chessie in mind.

I have a funny update to this.
Zircon was whining in the bedroom for a while. hubby and I were in the office so we asked him to come join us and I saw that he had his Funbell. He apparently was having trouble getting the treats to come out of it. In frustration he flung it on the floor. A few treats bounced out of the little holes on the end. He ate the treats, picked it up and flung it on the floor again. Again some treats came out. Eureka! I think I saw a light bulb go on over Zircon's head!
