Default The art of getting a rock out of a lake.

Honey wants to show everyone how to get a rock out of a lake .

First off, decide what one you want to get, the bigger the better.

Use your paws to manovure the rock into a area where it is easier to get out.

Prepare for head dipping to pick up the rock,

unfornatly the next step pic wouldn't load.

Pick up the rock, and start moving backwards until you get at the bank of the lake.

Drop the rock, and have to pick it back up.

Get the rock onto dry land, and then you can start to play with it there.

Now run around as fast as you can, while holding the rock in your mouth, no matter how uncomfy it looks or feels

She is a very determined girl lol, she will spend ages trying to get things out of lakes, its even funnier when she puts her whole head in and you start to see little bubbles coming up

That is funny. I've seen a Labby go in and get rocks out of a pond we swim in during warm weather. The dog went and got about twelve rocks and piled them all up on shore. Honey showed us how, too bad she can't tell us why.

I'd like to know the "why" too! Chessie has never been much interested in balls or frisbees; if I have her in the yard and throw one to/for her, she will do the one obligatory chase and then lose interest and much prefer to sniff her time away. But areas along the garden and fence have white rock borders and she spends a good deal of time picking out exactly the right white rock to carry around and then plop it in another place.... usually in the middle of the walk or lawn....for me to pick up and put back.

I have absoluty no idea why lol, she will play with a football, but will only do that if someone else has been playing with it for a while, then she will join in, but she will go straight into a lake, or even a puddle to get a still rock or stone out lol.

They are amazing pics. It's sure a big rock.

When we 1st got Tilba I had 'dog rocks' in their drinking water. She wouldn't leave them there. Every day she would get it out of the water. Eventually I gave up & stopped putting it in the water bowl.

That's brilliant Chaz! Honey just made me grin

Molly gets a bit like that with rocks, I spend ages throwing rocks in streams and she goes nuts trying to get them out, though she's never picked up one quite as big as Honey, that looks really heavy!
