Default No Weak Stomachs--dog bite photo

Ok, so we changed the bandages today, remember that it happened Wednesday night and it's now Friday morning. I think it looks remarkably well considering the wound was a four inch skin tear. A little puffy, but the color is good and right in line with healing. I had the hubby take a quick snapshot of my hands for posterity.

WARNING! Do not scroll down if you don't handle the sight of stitches well!!!

Geez, it does look puffy. I hope it heals with no problems. Sevral years ago my son was leaving for a work and neighbors cat was in his truck, Cat wouldn't get it, he reached to take it out and it bit him. He ended up in hospitalwith infection in his finger. I wanted to kill that stinking cat! I suppose he probably shouldn't have had his window down so far, but it is summer and tht means HOT here on the Texas coast. Occasionally our cat got in, but she always got out. This was just a meran CAT.

Oh, there's no doubt it's going to scar. The doc even told me my 'handmodeling days were done'. Luckily, I don't care about that. The nice thing was it's a straight line tear with no jagged edges. So the scar shouldn't be bad. The puffiness on it is no shocker considering what happened. It looks a lot like how my mom's hand looked after she had surgery on hers. So I'm pretty sure I'm on the right track.

The cat wound getting infected is no surprise since they harbor a higher chance of infection to begin with. Hope he fared alright in the long haul! I'm doing everything I can to prevent an infection at this point.

I didn't feel it at all when it happened. Adrenaline buffered EVERYTHING. And it held it at bay almost til the point where they numbed it locally for the stitches. I started to feel it right before... the next day was another story. It aches, but less than I anticipated. my benchmark of pain is against migraines, so I have a fairly high tolerance for pain.

Heh... I just looked at the date on the photo... looks like the date reset after the battery change.

Wow, that actually looks worse than I thought it would. It does look pretty good but much bigger than I pictured it. Hope it heals up good and is feeling better soon.

Ouch looks like that was painful. Though it doesn't look that bad. Looks good really wound wise. Hope it heals up quick and without complication.
