Red face How can you REALLY tell how big a dog will be??

Hi, I hope someone can tell me how to judge how big my baby Yorkie will be? He is so tiny and he is supposed to be a teacup so to speak. Since I got him, I dont think I see alot of growth. He is a bad eater too. He feels so delicate and bony and fluffy. He is hard to hold on to he squirms and tries to jump out of your arms. People really have to hold him tight when they pick him up. I scringe when I see someone hold him. I know if they drop him its OVER but sometimes he acts tough so people think he is stronger than what he is. I really cant believe how small he is sometimes.. he was born in December 13, 2009. Can anyone take a guess at how big he will get ??I will post a picture now Thanks..

Hi, if he is a Teacup I would venture to say he has pretty much got his height, he should put some weight on, but I would not worry alot about that for now.

He will eat when hungry if he is not wormy and do not give him people food, let him eat only his food, he will fill out some, but Teacups are so tiny. You will need to tell folks to handle with much care. Take care...

One pound at 3 months doesn't sound like a healthy dog to me--tiny or not. Especially if you can feel his bones. Has he been checked by a vet to see if his development is within the normal range for his size?

He is cute, but I agree you should let the vet have a look at him, just a to check that everything is OK.

I've seen a chart that says if the dog weighs 1 lb at three months, the adult weight will be about 2 lbs.
