Default Current & past dogs, fosters, rescues, etc.

Knowing how much we forum-goers absolutly love pictures, I thought I'd share some of my past dogs, fosters and rescues as well as my current gang of two. And I was asked for more; plus I was home sick today..so here we are! Be prepared..it's a load.

Kenai. His owners left him chained in their backyard in my Kent, WA neighborhood. Seldom food, a bucket of algae water, and a tarp for shelter. I saw him out my window when I lived in the city, and went to the owner's house, they were never home. Finally, I caught them one evening and asked if it would be okay if I walked him and stuff for free. They accepted and I found out his name was Kenai. They told me he was a Neapolitan Mastiff x Labrador. I fell in love with him and he turned into my dog when they left him there when they moved. He was seven when offered to walk him, and nine when they moved out and left him. He lived to be much, much older and was the sweetest dog! How they could abandon him, I have no idea..

Jindo. Found him in a trailor park in Leavenworth, WA, starving with a collar so tight a few more days it would have been imbedded in his skin. He was un-neautered and got my uncle's dog pregnant. He was hated in the park from then on, except by me. I loved him and gave him the love he never seemed to have had. He was a sweet heart and slept at my feet in the tent, following me around everywhere.

More coming.

Dakota was the little pit bull puppy I loved! He belonged to a friend of mine who wanted a pit bull after I educated her about them and told her how absolutly wonderful they were. She had a Pit x Lab at the time and took him as a 12 week old puppy. Stubborn and somewhat careless, he was still a sweet puppy.

Roscoe. My "smexy pibble" he was. He had the muscles anybody would dream of and I did indeed love him, simply because I absolutly loved pit bulls with everything I had. He belonged to my neighbors, who left him for up to a week in the backyard with only a bit of food on a logging chain at least a couple times a month, plus they worked from 6 in the morning until up to 11 at night; not good for the poor dog. At the time I lived in a Monroe, WA neighborhood and I offered to take him while they were at work and play with him and such, and they said sure, so I did.

Makatie. Blind as a bat, she is! Belonging to my uncle and aunt. She's a merle Great Dane, and a sweet one at that. She's also very, very mellow and calm in her old age of nearly fourteen.

Blackie. I found him wandering my neighborhood in Monroe one day and he followed me on home. After reporting his arrival to my house to the local shelter I kept him for a few days and finally got a call that the owners had called looking for him. Goofy boy had ran blocks sniffing for a girl to mate with! He was sure a sweet and silly big guy.

Charlie. Man oh man, Charlie. He had papers and all, AKC, the whole nine yards for some people. Welll...not for these people. In my old Monroe, WA neighborhood he ran free, rolling in mud, never wanting to go home, scarce of everybody and extremely loud. I finally found his owners down the street from me one day yelling, "Charrrrrrliiiieeeeee!". I offered to walk him, they gave me a phone number and it all started from there. The walks, the training, and the shows. He was stubborn, but smart. One day not more than 6 months ago I went to their home asking how he was. They had gotten rid of the little guy I had rollerbladed with, showed with and trained with everyday. I still miss that stubborn Beagle..

Ollie. That big Ollie bear! He belonged to a friend's grandma who found out about me and dumped him on my doorstep. Crazy, stupid lady. Dog just sat there with his tongue lolling and tail going nuts when I went out for the newspaper that day! I rehomed the old guy with a loving family who lived on a lake, because I lived in a small rental home with my already four dogs. He was sure a big sweetie, though, runner he was.

Baybe. I knew him when I lived back in my Kent home. Stupid owners thought they were going to breed him to a Dalmatian x Jack Russel Terrier. He was a Dachshund x Chihuahua x Pit Bull, supposedly; that's what they said. I knew them and scolded them for what they were doing, but they insisted. Once they were done getting money out of the pups, they ended up needing to move back to Mexico and dumped the pup in my backyard. We rehomed him down the road. He was a sweet one, but quick and stubborn!

Maggie. One day she was running loose in my neighborhood (again when I lived in the city). She ran right up to me and my dogs so I grabbed her. The owners were screaming for her madly when I walked around the corner with her. They thanked me and chained her up in the back. Being as nosy as I am, I followed them back there and their whole yard was covered in her shedding fur! She had a tiny igloo house I highly doubt she could fit in, and had a giant chain on. I couldn't resist her innocent face and her slowly wagging tail, so I asked if I could walk her. They said, "yeah, get her whenever you can or want to". I was surprised. They just let anybody go into their backyard and take their dog? So everyday I went, gave her some hot dogs and went biking with her. She loved running and knew I came at 4:00 every weekday for her.

"Tar" renamed to Willow. The people had called him "Tar". I was staying with my uncle, aunt and cousin in their Everett, WA apartments when I met Tar, who was kept outside on a chain most of the time. I played with him, tossed sticks for him, and he seemed to become terrified of me when I had to put him back on his chain. I found some couch cousins at the apartments dump and brought them to Tar's apartment, which was right to the left of ours. I put one in his dog house, which he loved and one outside his dog house. Goofy thing loved rolling all over them with his stick! Well, one night, "Tar"'s owners put him, chained, in his dog house and pushed the opening on the dog house (with him in it) against the apartment, and left. Left him there, inside his dog house with the chain on, and just left. I found him in there. Poor guy was covered in his feces and urine, hungry and thirsty. I took him and had no problems finding a home for a healthy, happy Weim.

Alaska & Georgia. My lovely white Boxer we had to euthanize in March 08 is on the left. My nine year old girl who is still with us is on the right.

Sally & Georgia. Past foster Pit x Lab on the left and Georgia on the right.

Sally. Past foster.

Elly. Current rescue.

More coming..

Moose. He would wait for me at the school gate when I was in Middle School, follow me home, eat at my house, sleep there and play with my dogs. How he found me, I have no idea. But he was my buddy.

An old friend's Black Labrador.

Same friend's Golden.

Same friend's Yellow Labrador.

& all three.

Kismit. The yellow Labrador. I found him outside of our new neighbor's house who had just moved in. It was near December, hailing, snowing, pouring rain. Temperatures under 30*F were scheduled to happen that night. He was covered in mud, shaking violenty and absolutly terrified when I walked up to him. I took the poor old guy to my home, fed him and let him dry off in the bath room. He sat next to me by the computer for hours until the owners got home and came to our house. They made up some lame excuse and took him.

Georgia. Who loves kids.

ONE MORE.
